Announcements – October 30, 2017

  • This year, scholarship information will be shared via google classroom. Please join the scholarship classroom by using code 13qqz. If you have any questions or concerns please see Mrs. Edwards in guidance. 
  • Applications for governor’s school are now being accepted. Please see guidance for more information and deadlines. 
  • The Suffolk-Nansemond Historical Society is excited about the opportunity to offer high school students community service hours at our headquarters in downtown Suffolk.  We feel that this is a unique and educational way in which to acquire the hours needed for graduation. For more information, please see your school counselor. 
  • Yearbooks for the 2017-2018 school year are on sale now until Christmas break for only $50. After Christmas break, the price will go up to $60. Seniors, from now until Thanksgiving break we will be running a special on senior ads for the yearbook; full page: $20,0 after Thanksgiving break the price will go up to $300. If you would like a senior ad in the yearbook please see Ms. Sapp in room 129. 
  • Anyone planning to play a winter sport must have a physical by Nov. 2. All physical must be turned in to Coach G. Rountree. You will not be able to try out without a physical. Current fall sports participants do not have to get a new physical. 
  • Marketing students: DECA dues are due by tomorrow, 31st. 
  • There will be an FFA forestry judging practice tomorrow, Oct. 31 in room 154 from 3:15 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. 
  • School ID cards and proofs from the original picture days in October may be picked up in the library before and after school and during lunches. 
  • Halloween is the last day to take part in the Creepy Cavalier Crawl in the library.  If you are brave enough to visit the stations, a sweet treat is waiting for you at the end. This week also kicks off International Games Day in the library.  Come by any day this week to take part in a game you have never tried before. Bring a friend who is up for some friendly competition. 
  • Marketing students: there is going to be a DECA meeting on Thursday, Nov. 2nd at 3:15 p.m. in room 230. Please be on time! 
  • There will be boys’ tennis conditioning this Friday, Nov. 3 from 3:15 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. make sure you have a ride home. Questions talk to Coach Jay in room 209. 
  • Make-up pictures will be taken on Wednesday, Nov. 1. Only those students who purchased picture packets will be allowed re-takes. In order to re-take, the pictures from the original packet must be returned at the time the second picture is taken. Teachers and students who did not have their picture taken on the original dates may have their picture taken on this date.
