Announcements – February 13, 2018

  • Class of 2018, the Workkeys writing test will be offered at Lakeland High School on Thursday, Feb. 15 during school. The cost of the test is $30. You must sign up and pay in the testing office by today, Feb. 13th. No late registration is allowed! 
  • ASVAB testing will take place Wednesday, Feb  21 at LHS. Sign ups will take place in the library. Students may start signing up for a space now through this Friday, Feb. 16. Only students in grades 10-12 are allowed to test. 
  • Juniors: if you plan on taking the March 10th SAT, please see Mrs. Foster with questions. 
  • The winter banquet will be held on March 5 at 6:00 p.m. in the Lakeland HS auditorium. 
  • Spring sports begin Monday, Feb. 19. You must have a physical to participate. 
  • There will be boys’ tennis conditioning this Friday, February 16 on the tennis courts till 5:00 p.m. make sure you have a ride home. Questions talk to Coach Jay in room 209. 
  • The Cavs Care club will be doing a Valentine’s day gift basket raffle during 1st, 3rd and 4th Buy a $1 ticket for a chance to win over $30 in valentine goodies! 
  • Snead would like to recognize Tavian Thompson for exhibiting February’s character traits of 
    fairness and honesty. Tavian will be called down to the library at the end of the month to collect a prize. 
  • The Fellowship of Christian students will meet again this Thursdayat 6pm in room 125.  The meeting will last until 7:15.  You must provide your own transportation to and from the meeting.  Remember, everyone is invited!  If you have any questions, see Mr. E. Jones in room 125.  Hope to see you on Thursday! 
  • This week kicks off Lakeland’s Suffolk Education Foundation campaign. Today is express yourself by wearing pink head to toe. Wednesday marks the SEF valentine gram fundraiser. Buy a Valentine gram for your sweetie. Valentine grams will be available in the library before school and during lunches for a $1. Don’t forget to get your sweetie a sweet treat.
  • Thursday is backwards day…wear everything backwards. Friday is crazy hat day. To participate in each event, pay $1 in the library before school, or at the library table in the cafeteria during lunches. Stickers will be handed out to students who paid to participate. All proceeds go towards teacher grants, student scholarships and educational programming.
