CavalierSENIORS - Reminder for those of you who have already applied to colleges or universities. Please make sure you are checking in with them to verify that everything has been received such as transcripts and test scores. Also, make sure Mrs. Williams or Mrs. Foster is receiving a copy of your acceptance letters as you receive them.

JUNIORS, - if you have not registered for an SAT in the Spring (test dates are March 9, May 4 or June 1) or and ACT (Feb. 9, April 13 or June 8), please register soon. Seats will fill up fast as it gets closer to test dates. Please return your fee waiver application & release forms to Mrs. Foster, or if you have any questions, please see Mrs. Foster ASAP!

Off season football workouts will be held Mon. - Thurs., 4-6:30p for all new and returning players. Attendance is mandatory.

February's character development traits are honesty and fairness. Honest and fair students follow rules, they don't plagiarize their written work. They turn in found objects and they consider other people's point of view. Teachers, if you have a fair and honest student in class, please send that student's name to the library. They will be called down at the end of the month for a prize.

The following students were nominated for exhibiting fairness and honest this month: Jasmene' Joyner, Starlina Shephard, Ta'Mayra Freeman and Teshun Pierre.

Beginning on Mon., Feb. 4, we will be celebrating CTE month. Stop by Room 152 to answer the Technology question of the week to enter the drawing for a prize from Mrs. Parker!

February is Career and Technical Education month. Career and Technical education, also known as CTE, provides students of all ages with the academic and technical skills, knowledge, and training necessary to succeed in future careers and to become lifelong learners. For the rest of the month, we will be profiling various career clusters and career pathways that are available.

Today's CTE career cluster is Hospitality and Tourism. Hospitality and Tourism encompasses the management, marketing and operations of restaurants and other food services, lodging, attractions, recreation events and travel related services. The goal for workers in this industry is to please people. In this field, you could become a hotel manager, restaurant manager, tour guide, or a chef. There are over 460,000 Virginians employed in this career cluster.

The Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. announces that their 2019 Scholarship Applications are now available in the Guidance department. Completed applications are due on or before March 22, 2019. For more information contact, Mrs. Milan (room 120) or Mrs. Phillips (room 219).

The school store will be closed Fri., Feb. 22 - Fri., March 1. It will re-open on Mon.,. March 4. Please stop by on Mon., March 4 - Wed., March 6 during 1st, 2nd or 3rd lunches.

There will be an FCCLA meeting on Tues., Feb. 26 after school in room 115.

There will be a mandatory GearUp meeting on Monday, February 25 after school in room 203. Please make arrangements to attend.

FFA members who wish to compete in the Small Engine Troubleshooting CDE should be in the Agriculture classroom on Tues., Feb. 26 at 3:15.

Come celebrate your college acceptance with Mrs. Foster, ACCESS college foundation, and Shaggy from z104. Free t-shirt and lunch are included. The celebration will be at the ODU Ted Constant Center on Tues., April 30. Requirements: you must be accepted into at least one college/university, have completed your FAFSA and provide one financial aid award letter before the trip. Spots are limited. Please see Mrs. Foster for more details and a permission slip.
