CavalierSENIORS - Reminder for those of you who have already applied to colleges or universities. Please make sure you are checking in with them to verify that everything has been received such as transcripts and test scores. Also, make sure Mrs. Williams or Mrs. Foster is receiving a copy of your acceptance letters as you receive them.

JUNIORS, - if you have not registered for an SAT in the Spring (test dates are March 9, May 4 or June 1) or and ACT (Feb. 9, April 13 or June 8), please register soon. Seats will fill up fast as it gets closer to test dates. Please return your fee waiver application & release forms to Mrs. Foster, or if you have any questions, please see Mrs. Foster ASAP!

Seniors - please order your cap & gown at as soon as possible.

The Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. announces that their 2019 Scholarship Applications are now available in the Guidance department. Completed applications are due on or before March 22, 2019. For more information contact, Mrs. Milan (room 120) or Mrs. Phillips (room 219).

Come celebrate your college acceptance with Mrs. Foster, ACCESS college foundation, and Shaggy from z104. Free t-shirt and lunch are included. The celebration will be at the ODU Ted Constant Center on Tues., April 30. Requirements: you must be accepted into at least one college/university, have completed your FAFSA and provide one financial aid award letter before the trip. Spots are limited. Please see Mrs. Foster for more details and a permission slip.

The registration form for AP exams has been posted in the banner section of the web page. This must be submitted to the Testing Office by March 28, 2019.

The Character Development trait for March is DILIGENCE. A diligent student keeps an agenda or planner, starts early on school projects, overcomes distractions and focuses on their work at hand.

Two community service/internship opportunities:

Kid's College Camp - hosted by Paul D. Camp Community College. Begins June 17, for seven weeks. Participants may work as many as 35 hours/week and will earn community service hours. For more info, see your school counselor.

Hope for Suffolk - internship/community service opportunity held at Westminster Church on Godwin Blvd. Participants will earn money as well as community service hours This program begins in April and continues through October. Times will differ from school year to summer. For more info, see your school counselor.

SENIORS - Not sure what you want do after graduation? Not sure where to go to college?! You are in luck! Come to Paul D. Camp's CTE Exploration Day! Hands-on fun and learning just for your - robotics, nursing, EMT, criminal justice and more! This event in on Friday, April 26. Free lunch provided. See Mrs. Foster for permission slip. Space is limited.

SENIORS - Lifetouch is coming to Lakeland to shoot Cap & Gown pictures on March 28 & 29. A $25 sitting is due on picture day. Lifetouch will provide the cap & gown for the picture, and proceeds will benefit LHS students and staff. ACTORS & ACTRESSES - The Cavalier Theatre Troupe will be presenting the play "12 Angry Jurors" by Reginald Rose this semester. If you are interested in auditioning, please sign up in Room 163. See Mrs. Ertekin if you have questions. Auditions will be on Monday, March 18.

There will be an FCCLA meeting on Mon., March 25 in Room 115.

There will be a DECA meeting on Thurs., March 28 at 3:00 pm in Room 230.

SENIORS - The deadline t-shirt sizes will be extended to Fri., March 15. Please stop by Ms Manning's room and follow the instructions outside her door. This is for Seniors who have paid dues.

SENIORS - Do you have a GPA of 2.5 or higher? Do yo wish you could just do one scholarship application that will get you into multiple scholarships at once? The ACCESS scholarship is now available. This application will qualify you for at least five or more scholarships with just one application! No essay required. Applications are available online at under the scholarship tab or if you don't have your paper application yet, see Mrs. Foster. First deadline is March 29. Multiple winners are selected.

The library is celebrating National Popcorn Day. If you successfully completed the "Proofreading and Editing Project", come to the Library to retrieve your free bag of popcorn.

Congratulations to the Varsity Baseball team on their 2-1 win over Deep Creek last night. Tyler Spencer got the win by throwing a complete game with four strike-outs. Noah Boone had the game winning hit with a two RBI double.

Congratulations to the Girls' Varsity Soccer team, with a win of 8-0 over Phoebus High School!
