CavalierThe Scholastic Bowl team will practice on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 immediately following school in room 126. Practice will last one hour. Please plan to provide your own transportation or ride the 5:30 bus.

Applications for the Governor's School Summer 2019 Residential Academies are now available. Please see Mrs. Bowers in Guidance for more information and deadlines.

October is Disability Awareness Month. Cerebral palsy is associated with movement, muscle tone, and posture. Cerebral refers to the brain and palsy means weakness or lace of muscle birth, caused by a reduced blood supply and lack of oxygen to the brain. Please with cerebral palsy may experience epilepsy, and may have difficulty with awareness and comprehension.

Boys' Tennis conditioning will be held on Fri., Nov. 2 after school at the tennis courts from 3:15 - 5:00. Make sure you have a ride home at 5:00, no late bus. Questions, talk to Coach Jay in Room 209.

The Character Development team has chosen to recognize the character train of respect for the month of October. To respect someone is to admire them deeply, as a result of their abilities, qualities, or achievements. During the month of October, teachers will nominate students who exhibit respect. These students' names will be put in a drawing for prizes at the end of the month. Nominees will also have their names displayed on a banner in the hallway adjacent to the cafeteria.

English 10 students: signed permission skips to attend the annual CCAP tour are due to your English teacher or Guidance by Thurs., Nov. 1, 2018.

Softball players - Fall practice will be on Mon., Oct. 29 and the last game will be played Thurs., Nov. 1. If you are planning on playing on Nov. 1, see Coach Wood immediately to make sure he has enough to play.

The next GSA meeting will take place on Thurs., Nov. 1, 3:15 in Room 223.

There is a CTE field trip for any ninth grade student on November 15. The trip is to the Hilton in Suffolk and includes a very nice sit-down lunch. Please see Mr. Strauss in room 117 or your English teacher for permission slips and information. Only the first 50 students that turn in the form can go.

Girls' tennis conditioning will take place on Thurs., Nov. 1, 3:30-5:00p. All interested female tennis players should assemble at the tennis courts at 3:30. Come out and participate in the fun and exciting game of tennis while representing your school. Go Cavaliers!

Track conditioning will take place on Wed., Oct. 31 2018.
