Seniors, with a minimum B- (80%) average in a class second semester, are exempt from taking the final exam.  Ex. Senior 19 is enrolled in government and has a 75/C 3rd nine week average & 85/B 4th nine weeks average. Second semester average = 80/B. Senior 19 is exempt from the government final.

Seniors enrolled in an SOL course, which generate a passing score during the May 2019 testing cycle, are exempt from taking the final exam.  Ex. Senior 19 is enrolled in chemistry, is allowed to take the SOL test, and earns a score of 400 or higher during May 2019 testing. Senior 19 is then exempt from the chemistry final exam.

In all cases, students who are exempt may still take the exam. The final average will be taken as the higher of the two averages as calculated with and without the exam.

***Consult with individual teacher(s) for confirmation of exemption status***
